"Tom the Builder"

Tom "The Builder" was recently hired to do a remodel on my house. He signed contracts between me and the bank agreeing that he would do the job in a professional manner and get paid in full when the job was complete. As soon as work was to begin, he started complaining that he didnt recieve all of the money up front. He is a scam artist. The type of person they warn you about on the evening news. He will treat you and your family in a very unprofessional manner. He will claim things like " I did not bid for this or that".. He will try and install pre-formed home depot products, complain that everything else is "custom" and drag his feet to do it the way you want it.

He will lose your reciepts for purchases, avoid your phone calls, emails and certified letters. He will not show up for work, claiming little league injuries from months past. This guy is not to be trusted.

He has extremely poor workmanship. Everything he does, will have to be re-done because it is half-assed to begin with. Not to mention the fact that most of the time on the job site he was observed talking on the phone. And don't be surparised if your property is littered with cigarrette butts and trash him and his "crew" left behind.

If you do hire this guy to do your project, dont be surprised if your materials come up missing, and he talks shit to all of his little contractor buddies and then pulls a move like coming back when you arent home to get all of his shit, and doesnt give the key back, leaving your house in worse shape than it was to begin with. Then, after you hire someone else, and the job is complete, he starts coming around wanting to get paid for something he never did.

If that isnt enough, to top it off, he will have his little contractor buddies call and threaten you by phone, to strong arm you in a last ditch effort to get paid for a job never completed. He wont even have the common courtesy or guts to do it himself.

he is a bonified scam artist.
He won't be getting a referral from me.
