After scanning some of the complaints made by unsatisfied customers, I've come to realize that most of these complaints are coming from elderly people that have been targeted by Sears. My parents are one of these victims. My parents are in their 80s and have been doing business with Sears for most of their married life (over 50 years). Recently they have been having problems with two appliances purchased at Sears. While Sears was quick to take their CASH and luring them to purchase an additional service contract, they have not been too quick to fix a problem with a refrigerator that has been giving them problems from the second month of purchased. The complaint goes in and a repair person is sent two weeks later. What kind of services is that? Four to five repair visits have been made (not to mention the ones that were cancelled by the company without notifying us; waiting for hours on end in desperation) and the problem has not been resolved. On two of these visits a service man came in and told us that he needed to order a part and as soon as the part came in to call for repair. We did just that only to get someone on the other end to tell us that someone will come in two weeks later. THIS IS INSANE! Now the refrigerator is making a loud noise. It sounds as if it going to blow up. I am so surprised anD disappointed that SEARS, a multimillion dollar company is treating its consumers in such unsatisfactory way.
