Swindled by Contracto

On Sunday, June 3, I gave a man named "Anthony Najara" $600 cash down payment on a project that he was to do at my home. He came the next day and removed paneling from the wall in the living room and removed wallpaper from the dining room. He left after finishing and said he would return tomorrow. It is now Wednesday, June 16 and he has not returned to finish the job. I have called him numerous times, left messages and the last time I heard from him was June 9th in which he stated he would be at my house the next morning at 9:00 A.M. The next morning, he did not show and I have not heard from him since. I have a bad feeling that his name may be a fraud.
