11% rebate problems Rebate ripoff

My wife and I specifically purchased our new kitchen cabinets at Menards to take advantage of the 11% rebate offer they were running. I was exepcting a rebate in the form of a store credit for about $500. I received the check over the weekend and it was for $50.61. The rebate receipts showed the actual rebate amount on the bottom but it looks like they gave me 11% of the rebate amount instead of 11% of the purchase amount. I have e-mailed the rebate provider hoping this was just a clerical error on their part. If not, I will be doing my future shopping at Home Depot and Lowe's.
