Sanitizing Air Vents

Initially called the company for their $55 vent cleaning special. Once at my house, they stated there was moisture and they needed to not only clean but sanitize all of the vents for a substantial cost increase.

Thinking better safe than sorry I decided to do the full service. For the service, they would clean, sanitize, and deoterize all of the vents. This would come with a full 5 year warranty in which they would come back after 6 months and re-sanitize and then every year thereafter until the end of the warranty.

After the first 6 months, I called them back and they did service the vents for free. After 1 year I called them back but they said the chemical/product was free but I would be responsible for the $95 service/travel fee. I already paid almost $400 for the initial service that I told them this was included in my contract. None the less, my contract says it's under warranty for 5 years but doesn't say that I get sanitized each year and/or that it's free without service charge. Now the company will not honor what the sales person sold to me.

I definitely did not get an extra $340 worth of service compared to the initial $55 service request. Now everytime I call about this, they do not even want to work with me or seem to think this is not unreasonable to charge you this extra service fee even though they offer to visit your home and do free estimates.

Caution and the upsell and make sure you get in writing what exactly you will be getting. Once the sales person is gone, all you have to rely on is the contract since the company won't honor anything.
