Price Gouging, Predatory and Dishonest Sales Tactics

The company was hired to disconnect a gas dryer and install a new shut-off valve. When here, we realized that we needed shut-off valves also installed on the water supply for a nearby utility sink. We needed to move the sink to make room for scheduled delivery of new washer and dryer that day. The Dean's guy knew this. He charged $200 each (total $400!) to install these valves. Probably 20 minutes of work and less than $20 of parts — and he was already here so he did not have to make another trip.

He also quoted about $1,200 to move the drain for the same sink. We declined and later hired another licensed plumber who did that, plus a bunch of other work, for about $350 total.
