Started a finance charge before a one year payoff was completed before due date

On December 8th of I signed a credit card aggrement for purchace of new carpet for my home. I thought I would receive my paperwork in January of for my account and payment information. Knowing at the time of my signing for the credit the understanding the balance would remain intrest free for one year, when the end of January come around I still did not receive any kind of statement I made copies of my paperwork from the day of purchase.

I divided the one year into payments, then sent my first payment into Monogram bank. It was not until Febuary when I received my account information. The next three months I did the same because we did not get our statements until after the middle of the month. We (my wife and I) had got enough statements to then send those in with payment, keeping in mind, we had not missed, or were late on even one payment thoughout the year. Now here we are, December the last payment should be due to end the account of "intrest free for a year" we just got the last bill in the mail, and to our surprise, we now have to pay a full years worth of intrest.

I called the company to have them explain to me why I was now paying for all the interest. The only answer I got was you account should have been payed in full by December, to avoid interest charges this is at the bottom of your statement "sir". And, yes now looking back on my statements I do see that. But does this sound like "fair business" to you, and not getting my first statement until Feburary, after making my purchace in December, two months into the next year. I asked the same question to the person I was talking to. I then asked, when was my first payment received, then I asked why I did not get my first statement until Feburary, she said I did get my statement in January.

Ok, why do I only have eleven statements payed, and my number twelve statement I just received two days ago.By-the-way I got it 12-18-03, and the cut off time for the finance charge was 12-11-03. Is this fair?
