Bravia TV Developed Vertical Lines Under Two Years Old

In June I had purchased a Sony Bravia LCD flat screen Model # KDL-52V5100 from Ultimate Electronics. Within the last two weeks I started to see vertical lines through the TV. We have had are Sony Bravia TV for less than 2 Years. We had called Ultimate Electronics and they had recommended a place that would be able to come out and do a diagnostic on our television for $90.00. Jose with Downtown Radio came out to our home 3/29 @ 1:30pm the service tech informed us that we need a new Flat Panel for our television and gave a estimate of $2000.00. We do not feel that we should have to pay $2000.00 to get out Sony Bravia fixed that we have had less than 2years. I then called Sony Customer Relation and was told that there is nothing that they can do for us because they have not had enough complaints from other consumers of this happening and that we would need to purchase a new TV. I have gone online and there are Nemours complaints with the Sony Bravia having vertical lines through the screen. Unfortunately because we have had our Sony Bravia for less than 2 years the Sony Bravia should be replaced by Sony. I am writing this complaint because Sony is not willing to stand behind their product, and not willing to replace a product that is less than 2 years old.

On 3/30 10am I had called Sony and asked if they would be willing to replace the part that needs to be fixed on the Bravia and we would be willing to pay for parts. I was explained that they can’t fix it because there is no warrant and then was offered a KDL46NX810 for a discounted price. This is a much smaller TV and is also 3D television. We are not looking for a 3D television we would then have to buy 3D glasses movies etc. The account rep stated then that they have no other TV’s at this time and that is all that they would be willing to offer. I also explained that I would like my Bravia replaced it is less than 2 years old, and the only reason we had purchased a Sony was because I thought that it would last. He stated that they no longer make the Model # KDL-52V5100 Sony Bravia. Explain at this I would be contacting the BBB. He said that he would note account.
