Awful Delivery for Shipping - Delayed Shipping

Sears has been one of my favorite companies through the years. However, I am so frustrated with them now, but glad I found out how unreliable their shipping is before Christmas.

Ordered a new PS3 last week on 11/17. At checkout the screen said, "no need to upgrade, we are expediting shipping for you." The next day, I received a tracking number from UPS. The next day, I checked the UPS website that said the information was received but the item was not in their possesion. I spoke with a customer service rep who said they indeed had it and it would be delivered Monday (11/23). She very kindly refunded me the shipping fee. However, Monday arrived and no package. Again checked UPS website and called. They could not give me any information. Another call to Sears who said they have done this to save money and UPS doesn't keep up with the package. So today (11/24) the item has shown up in UPS system 7 days later with a "revised" deliver date of 11/25, two days after Sears rep said it would be delivered.

Also ordered something else over the weekend 11/21 (flooring) and expedited shipping because of the problem (after paying $19.99 for ShipVantage trial). Yesterday UPS did have it in their system for delivery today 11/24. However, it has also been "revised" to a 11/25 delivery date.

So not sure whether this is a Sears or a UPS problem. I am all about saving money. However, the new method of shipping where you can't track a package or even know where it may be is wrong and not consumer friendly.

Here is a comparison. I bought all the flooring tiles from Sears they had. So went online 11/23 to Amazon and found more. Ordered and paid $3.99 for expedited shipping. To be delivered today 11/24 by fedex. Also, I know by tracking that the items are on the truck for delivery. So kudos to Amazon and Fedex. Sears and UPS not so much.
