Able Mold Inspection is NOT a certified or accredited Laboratory. They are NOT Industrial Hygienists and hold NO certifications from National Remediation Agencies.
Able Mold are FRAUDS.
This is how the scenario plays out. A person calls Able, requesting an inspection. They come out claim to test the area or Space, read their own results (ON SITE) and tell the person they have TOXIC Mold. They will then quote an outrageous amount to clean the space, with a solution that they will no disclose to the client.
In one dealing with Able Mold, a client was quoted $10,000 to clean an entire house, because of a 1'x1' surface that had been wet. They stated that the entire house was contaminated, based on their results. Also telling the family that the indoor environment was hazardous, and could be fatal.
This is what the governing body for Remediation and Remediators has to say about this practice.
Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC) has made the following recommended guidelines for dealing with Mold and Moisture remediation efforts.
Property owners should contact a certified Indoor Environmental Professional to ensure that remediation efforts areconducted safely with occupant protection ensured throughout the remediation process.
Whether or not remediators are trained tomake the determination of condition, to do so creates a conflict of interest.
Ethical considerations make such determination inappropriate and legislation may make it illegal. Even if qualified, remediators should never act as an Indoor Environmental Professionalon projects in which they provide remediation services.
I hope that this warning serves it purpose. Additionally I have gotten the appropriate State and Federal authorities involved, and will be pursuing this until Able is punished for this fraudulent practice.
