Subcontractor rip-off

I subcontracted a siding job from Marisbrooks. I completed the job on 1/23/10 and saw the homeowner give a check to the owner of the company, Steve Reichert. He told me a check would be mailed to me on Monday 1/25/10. I called on1/27/10 to see if the check was sent. He said no, but it would be out by Friday 1/29/10 after the homeowners check cleared. I called on the following Wednesday and he told me the homeowners check still didn't clear. I called the Monday after that and he said the homeowners check was bad. I waited a couple more days to call again, but now Steve won't talk on the phone. His wife got on the phone with my wife and started calling her names and hung up. Now the only way to contact them is by e-mail since they won't return my phone calls. The e-mails I get contain threats and lies. As of 3/14/10 I still haven't been paid and now they respond to my e-mails with threats of jail time for harassment. During the job I had to purchase materials which I haven't been compensated for either. The day I finished the job Steve told me the job was good and done. The homeowner was ok with the job and paid for it. I sent a complaint to the BBB to get some assistance before I file court papers. When I win in court they can appeal and stall which is why I'm trying alternative's first.
