SHAM WOW with fraudulent and misleading web ads

I tried ordering a simple hand held appliance by Slap Chop this afternoon. Website stated advertisement as $19.95 for two sets, plus two graters FREE with a FREE cutting board, my final price upon only hitting enter after putting in the credit card was $69.60!!!

There were no screens to identify separate prices per item. There were blatantly and purposefully hidden fees and costs — until the final credit card charge went through. On the home page, in teeny tiny 4-point font in an unreadable gray box, it vaguely stated various charges which never summed to the $29.75 as the FINAL SHIPPING for ordering one set.

There were no subsequent boxes or screens to add or subtract the unwanted cutting board, and properly calculate total shipping charges.

When I called the company to immediately cancel this order, I was told I COULDN'T cancel because my order was not processed 'yet'. I had previously tried to order Shamwow and encountered the same story. When I called back the next day, they told me I couldn't cancel because it 'had already been shipped.'

Most likely I will get the exact same story tomorrow when I try to cancel the order: "Sorry, we can't cancel it now because it's been shipped."

When I was talking with the customer service rep, I asked specifically for a supervisory to provide corporate address for this product. He told me the corporate name was Slap Chop... I hardly think so. He wouldn't provide it and transferred me to a 'supervisor' Susan. Her voice mail kicked in. I told her I wanted to cancel this order immediately prior to shipment and asked for her to return my phone call, giving her my availability hours and phone. Let's see if they live up to ANYTHING.
