The Hampton At Woodland Pointe Dr
Ashley Herndaon, Charolotte Gave proper notice for vacatin premise still charges extre month rent

Construction & Repair

My experience living at the Hampton's was great until it came to the end. We submitted a verbal 60 day notice and was sent a renewal form for a year renewal. After reading the the renewal we realized it was not for a month to month lease as we had requested. I called the office and was told the month to month lease would be 1284 dollars for our 1200 sq ft 2 br apt by Charlotte, a member of the office staff. I was told an email would suffice and was under the understanding that was for the month to month lease and termination since i noted we would be moving out june 1.

The same night i called and left a message with the property manager Ashley that we where only signing up for one extra month. We agreed we where moving out at the first of june and would pay the month to month price for one month.

My brother then left a hand written in the night drop box note saying we would be moving out June 1st the following day and this was on april 30th and we where told that was all we needed to do.

I recevied a call from one of the leasing agents The week of June the 8th saying we broke our lease and of coarse i about hit the roof. I called the next day with a bad attitude and fire in my eyes.

My brother showed up the following day (the more reasonable of the two brothers) to ask Ashley why they were being unreasonable about the situation and was treated as tho we had no class. Ashley rolled her eyes and sighed toward the other office members of the staff while my brother asked simple questions about how this could have happened without so much of a call to HIM since he was the one of two lease's on the lease and personally dropped of the the letter to move. Now i am sure my attitude the previous day had not helped as he tried to get an explanation of how something like this could happen, but it still does not justify treating a good tenant as a piece of discarded garbage.

How they could NOT know we were moving out June 1st when we told TWO members of the office Staff and submitted an Email and Hand written note. Of coarse they have no record of the note we left since we both worked hours that didnt allow us to get by the office during their normal office hours. We had never been late a payment or cause Any problems in the complex. Very unprofessional, and considering the days and times we live in financially a little hard hearted on their part.

We did everything we were asked to do and still are getting the bad end of the deal so my advice is to check out another place. Its a beautiful place to live, but a terrible company to rent from.

Cross your T's and Dot Your Eyes... Oh ya and never trust the office staff at the Hampton's at woodland Pointe.

PS: the funniest statement made tho was by the property manager." We had no idea you where moving out" Even tho i have an email dated april 28th saying that exact thing from April 28 after they sent us the wrong paperwork to sign for a month to month lease.
