Counterfit Systems, Shirestone Custom Countertops
Unreliable product with no remedy from supplie

I have had the displeasure of owning a Shirestone Countertop "system" for just over one year. The problems began way before that time.

Our kitchen island and kitchen countertops are all Shirestone product encompassing more than 100 square feet of counter space. Shortly after the island was completed the chips started showing up. They appear rough and nearly white and very noticeable on any colored surface. The edges around the sink have constantly chipped even with responsible use.

Our installer is out of business and we have gotten nothing but lip service from the company. Multiple phone calls and emails have yielded nothing. I imagine the reason they will not try to remedy the problem is that a chipping, poorly sealed surface is unrepairable. Now that our installer is out of business we have no remedy locally either.

Our friends and family think the Shirestone looked great but what a nightmare. I hope this is the only expensive lesson I learned on a new build. The island top will likely cost about $2000 to replace with granite. We are praying the rest of the counter tops hold up.
