Refused to honor warranty

Called Dyson and they referred me to their local service center. Vacuum would not stand upright. Unit was off the track. Dyson authorized them to complete the repair of my dyson DC25 ball vacuum

Nutley Vacuum (service center) claimed that it was due to unit needing to be cleaned and serviced. Claimed that cleaning and service needs to be done every year. A $70 job. The manager wanted cash and offered to waive the sales tax if I paid cash.

The telescoping wand also did not work. The store I purchased this from verified that all of the DC25 that they sold has the same problem.

Nutley claimed that the vacuum needed a part that was covered in order to get it to stand upright but also needed to be serviced and cleaned. While Dyson may not have to cover a vacuum that has a sock stuck in it, nutley apparently uses Dyson's policy to allow them to charge customers for covered warranty service. As soon as you walk in, they claim that the unit needs a $70 cleaning every year and they automatically blame any defects on that.

I have never heard of anyone being charged for a Warrantied repair. Dyson should not be letting them double dip.

Dyson charges high prices. They have utter contempt and disregard for their customers. The better business bureau finds their business unacceptable.

Dyson and the local service center now admit that both problems are due to manufacturing defects but the local service center is now claiming that there was a "pen type device" in the wand and there fore he is entitled to get paid from the warranty and from me. There was nothing inside the vacuum and even if there was, the warranty issues are due to manufacturing defect.

Better business bureau recommends against doing business with the company. Dyson has had 85 customers take the time to complain. They do not respond to complaints or make any attempt to make a resolution.

BBB offers mediation and repeatedly tries to get them to work and resolve customer issues but Dyson refuses to make the slightest attempt to resolve customer complaints.
