This guy is a pro all right! He talked me right out of $1500 for a downpayment on $3200 worth of work. Said he had to go get materials to get started on the remodeling job, and I haven't seen him since. He cashed my check with half an hour at my bank.
His m.O. Is to call repeatedly to explain why he hasn't or won't get to work on the house. One story is more spectacular than the last. (Don't get me wrong: he is in no way accountable. It's always someone else's fault.) He said his wife was an attorney with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Boulder, but I don't think there is even a BIA office there. He said he had a little daughter too.
And gave an address in Lafayette that doesn't exist. I know this because I've hired 2 different process servers in an attempt to get him into small claims court, and they can't find him. He may be using a ficticious name.
