Inferior Workmanship - Inferior Product - Lied About Warranty Lifetime warranty apparently means the lifetime of my check - Will not even return calls - Will not honor warranty

When they installed the windows they cracked about 15 shingles on the outside of the house because they didn't realize the flashing for the existing windows was behind the shingles. They did a lame job of repairing it as well. They left a 2 inch by 6 inch hole in the wall below one window and repaired it only after I told them I wouldn't pay the remainder due if they left it like that. They used caulking to repair it. (It looked like someone was fingerpainting.)

After they left, I realized they didn't add any insulation around the windows at all. So I repacked the windows with inslation the way they should be done. Thats when I realized, one of the windows was glued in with caulking! Oh well, Lesson learned I guess. But Now...

These windows that they installed came with a lifetime warranty incase they ever leak in between the panes. They are all double pane windows, and I got the upgraded ones with 7/8" between the panes. Now one of them is leaking in between the panes, (less than 2 years later). I have been trying to reach the guy and I keep getting his wife on the phone who says she will give hime the message and he will call us right back.

When I called in June, she said he was on vacation. I have called 17 times since then and either got his answering machine or his wife. I left a message every time, and no return call at all. I guess the real lesson learned is to never hire Ideal Doors & Windows again because they don't stand behine their workmanship or their product. And the Lifetime Warranty is USELESS!!
