On The Web Marketing Group Furniture ripoff

On May 6, I ordered a "Queen Anne" set of tables from www.furnitureontheweb.com, that consisted of a coffee table, an oval end table and a rectangular end table. They were marketed as a set. The price, including shipping, was $507.12.

When I received them on May 13, we noticed the coffee table was crushed on one side. We immediately called the company and reported this and they said they would immediately ship the replacement. It took repeated calls to finally get them to ship us another coffee table, which they shipped July 25. When we unpacked this table, we noticed the bottom had all kinds of screw holes and scratches, the screw holes for the legs were stripped and it also had damaged ends. When I called to complain they asked for pictures to be sent, which I did and they said they would try to ship a third table. I asked them to inspect the table before they shipped it.

We received an e-mail from them last week saying that they no longer are selling that product and that they would reimburse us for the coffee table. I called them and complained that this had been sold as a set and that I wanted the matching coffee table or all our money back and would be more than glad to return the end tables. They refused, saying the items were sold independent of each other. I told them it would be impossible for us to find a matching coffee table that was the exact cherry stain of the end tables and they said I had no other choice.

So now we are stuck with two end tables and no matching coffee table. If you are buying furniture from this company, be very careful that you don't get scammed like we did.
