Doesn't show up or call for service, won't return phone calls, excessive, tardy and inaccurate billing, deceptive, nutjob, deceitful, con-artist, charming then hammers you, sales-slime

Greg Smythe is a nutjob. He lures you in with his charming "can-do" personality, tries to do more than he is able to. Most of his crew is very good at what they do (but some don't do a very good job at all). Greg typically sends several months of billing at once, and the due date will be several days, or even many weeks prior to ever receiving the bill.

Most of his "jobs" (other than weekly property maintenance) have to be re-done, and then he tries to charge you for them again. According to Texas law, he illegally advertises and fertilizes yards, as well as weed control illegally.

Greg rarely ever does what he says he's going to do, or when he said he would do it. He tries to talk like he knows what he's doing, then after charging a premium, you realize he doesn't know much more than the common home owner.

Several of his crew have quit from not being paid what they actually work, or were under paid on many jobs. I wouldn't be surprised if many of "his guys" are not legal to work here, and many of them drive his trucks, probably uninsured.

If you try to confront him about any issues, he simply stops showing up or won't return a phone call, but still continues to charge for services. His sprinkler "repair and design" service is a complete ripoff. He uses very cheap parts which break, and he won't fix without charging you again, and he has no idea how to properly design the placement of heads to do the correct watering job.

If you do actually get hold of Greg, he often will blame his crew for what was his screwup. The guy is a real class act jerk.

Greg Smythe and LawnWorks (also known as ChristmasWorks, WindowWorks, SprinklerWorks, and any other job he can think of "Works") is nothing more than a labor shop. I feel sorry for his crew.
