Deceptive Local Yellow Pages Advertising Scam

I received a call two years ago from this lady with LocalRealEstateYellowPages.com trying to get me to sign up for an ad with their company. She had me go on line and look at it and it seemed pretty good. She said it was $250 a year so I agreed to do it, she faxed over an agreement, that was not legible for me to sign. When she had me go into the site after hurrying me to sign and send back the agreement, she said just check yes, you have read the terms, all the while rushing me. Well, I did not read the terms, much to my regret. I forgot all about it until less than a year later my credit card was charged $799.00, I had no idea what it was for so I called the credit card number and they gave me a number to call. I asked them why when they had told me that it was $250 a year that I was charged $799, they said that I should have read the terms. I told them that I did not want to renew it. Well, they could have cared less, also in the terms you have to send a certified letter no earlier than 90 days prior to the renewal date and no later than 60 days. Well, I sent the letter certified with a request for a return receipt. I called them first and was given the address over the phone, the address is also on their web site under "terms", of course. It came back to me with "no such number exists and cannot forward" by the post office. So I called the company and explained this to them and that I was given the wrong address by their company and that it is on their web site, now the time for non-renewal is up, imagine that! The lady? That I talked to transferred me to some man that did not answer the phone and has not returned the call after leaving him a voice mail with my numbers. Last year when I was calling about this there was one woman that I kept getting on the phone that cursed me and slammed the phone in my ear.

I also, at the advice of the person at the credit card company, which I will never deal with again, canceled my card and got a new number so they could not charge my card again, well they reversed the charge back to this company and a month later let them charge it back to the new number, so I closed that account.

I would advise any real estate agent or anyone else, business, etc. NOT to get involved with this crooked company, I do not know how they are getting away with doing this to people, but they are.
