Complete ripoff! Price gougers! Do not use!

This company is full of rip-off and con artists. My wife and I have a very workable stove but in recent months it developed a strange problem. One pilot light was larger than the other and it started to burn the underside of the stove. I woke up one morning and smelled a peculiar odor and I traced it to this pilot light in the stove. Not knowing how to repair the problem, I made the mistake of looking in the Yellow pages and found ARC & USA Appliance Services big advertisement with their "free estimate" tease.

So, I called them up and they said if they did the work, the estimate fee would be waived. Boy did they do a job on me! A half hour later, two guys came to my door, came in my house and opened the stove. They proceeded to clean both the pilot lights with a simple wire brush and used a small screwdriver to turn a screw to decrease the gas flow to the pilots.in all, this took about 30 minutes and the two workers were even "milking that" with unnecessary trips to their truck to make it look like they were doing something very difficult.

After they were finished, I asked them about their policy of waiving their service fee, which they agreed to but when they handed me the bill, I about fell over. The waived the $35 but charged me nearly 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT! 30 minutes of minimal work (and no parts needed) that I could have done myself came to $165!! What a rip-off! I tried to speak with the workers but they couldn't (or probably didn't want to) understand English as they were Russian. They said "call my boss".

So, I called on Monday and spoke to Ross and really didn't get anywhere as he was not interested in hearing my complaint. His attitude is very abrasive and he really didn't care about my issue. At first, I was really calm and made my points, but he kept interrupting me and by saying that he has to pay insurance and high employee costs too as a justification for his exorbitant prices. I thought, what a racket!

After about 20 minutes with him on the phone and my anger rising, he did agree, very begrudgingly, to a partial refund but it took me nearly TWO WEEKS to receive the refund. I called him nearly every day for about a week and a half and it was ALWAYS an excuse such as "The girls who write the checks are not in the office today" or "Maybe you gave me the wrong address and it went to the wrong house" and finally the "We had to cut you new check and you should get it in a few days" excuse. What a bunch of bologna!

Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. These guys are crooks, price gougers and con artists. I will never do business with them again.
