Watch out for shady tactics!

About two years ago we called this local A/C company, Bowman Heating & Air to come out and check our A/C unit. They were the people that installed my unit just a year ago. We had a labor warranty on the unit. They sent a tech out. I was out of work living on workmans comp. At this time because I fractured my ankle on my job and was only able to walk around with my crutches. When the tech arrived we told him what was going on with our air condition.

He then preceeded to check our unit inside and out. He came in about 20-30 minutes later and told us that he had to clean the coils on the outside unit and then he proceeded to clean the inside unit too. After about another 30-40 minutes he came in and told me what he did and wanted me to sign his work order for a total of $175.00! I never agreed to any work or signed any quote. I refused to sign his work order. The tech got mad and just walked out and drove off? I quickly received a call from the office concerning my bill and why I wouldn't sign the work order.

I explained to the woman in the office what happened and she explained that I would have to pay for the services that he performed withour my authorization. I told her I never saw or spoke with him before he did the work. So I told her I couldn't afford what they wanted to charge me for something I never agreed for them to do? I also explained I was told this work would be covered under my warranty.

To make all this worse I just found out that Bowman reported this to the credit bureau? And the amount grew to around $250.00! This is the only non-medical item currently on my report and it had effected my overall score. I would never recomend these people to anybody! I used to work in a simular trade, I was an electrican and we never would perform any work unitl we had written permission on a quote? This a unfair and unprofeesional way to take advantager of consummers and not good business ethnics.
