Macy's StainSafe Bernhardt
Macys selling defective Bernhardt leather, will not stand behind their product, and sells fraudulent Stainsafe insurance policies for furniture

On 12/14, I accepted a Bernhardt leather sectional, ottoman, and side char from Macy's in Fort Myers. Since we were seasonal owners, we used the furniture for tmonth in 2006 and two months in four months total.

I assumed this furniture was high quality @ 3500.00 and being made by Bernhardt and sold by prestigious Macy's, however I was dead wrong.

I arrived at the home in January to find that one cushion of the leather sofa is pitting. The smoothe leather top layer has hundreds of 1/8" diameter pit marks on the seating surface.

I phoned Macy's and spoke with the Sales Rep. He said "You have an extended warranty with StainSafe, contact them". Well, I contact StainSafe and filed a claim and it was denied, as this policy I paid $300 for does not cover "defects". Look up this ripoff company "StainSafe" and you will NEVER by another warranty insurance policy again. This is fraud.

Back to Macy's, I contacted the department Manager, who passed the buck to Macy's management in Clearwater, FL.

Now, since all this was discovered in January, the total number of cusions, four each on the sectional sofa are pitting, and the char cusion is now pitting.

To be fair about all of this, I have not contacted Bernhardt, but intend to do so on Monday.

This funiture as it is now is scrap and an embarassment.
