They Take Your Money and RUN!

In June we ordered a sofa from Leather Loft. We paid the deposit of $2650. It finally arrived in October. The remaining balance of $2100 plus an additional $200 they needed for the leather treatment. They delivered the sofa to our house and it was NOT what we ordered. The salesman had thought it would be different. They offered to leave the sofa until we had the right one but we were stupid and said "no". We were not comfortable having a white leather sofa in our house that wasn't ours. Months passed and we didn't hear from them. They moved locations and we were happy because it was closer to our house. We stopped by and met the owner, Kastle Stacy. He seemed so nice and sincere. He gave us some song and dance about the company they ordered the sofa from wasn't producing and he thought they were going out of business. He said since this was taking so long he would like us to go with a more expensive brand and it wouldn't cost us any additional money. Obviously, we were thrilled. This was around end of Feb. 2008. It is now end of April. I called the store last week and the phone number was disconnected. I went to the store and there was some furniture still there but the doors were locked. I contacted the landlord and he told me they haven't paid the rent in 2 months. I than contacted the sofa company in California that was supposely sending us our new sofa. They claimed that Leather Loft never even ordered anything for months. Last week, the rest of the furniture was moved out in the middle of the night. I now have had to hire an attorney and I don't think we will ever see our money again. It makes me sick to even think that Kastle Stacy was able to look us in the eyes and claim that he ordered the sofa. He blantly lied. No one has contacted us. We are so upset. Obviously, they are out of business now. I don't feel sorry for him since he is a liar and a thief. They say what goes around comes around. I hope that happens soon to Kastle Stacy. He is a rotten person.
