Carl Hart Of Morgan Clark Contracting
Ripped Off for $300,000 by BAD CONTRACTOR

Construction & Repair

This builder is not a true builder, but is most certainly a con-man who appears to be "Mr. Nice Guy" when he is bidding for your job. He knows how to talk a good game, but the minute he takes your first gigantic deposit... It is down a slippery, horrifying hill from there!

He literally "front loaded" his charges, meaning he charged up front for work that was not even begun yet as well as for work he claimed to be 100% complete but was not even 5% complete! To add to his robbery, the work he does do causes our home more harm and is all wrong AND a violation of building code!

To boot, he brings in sub-standard workers he gets from a "temp agency" but tries to pass them off as custom carpenters. Unthinkably bad carpentry and NO proper management or even cleanliness is practiced.

He stole $300,000 from us, and refused to make any of the enormous structural problems he caused right for us. When we finally fired this bad guy after he had caused 8 months of harrowing destruction to our home [which he made unlivable, so we had to live in a temporary apartment]... He then sticks us with a LIEN on our property as a retaliation for rightfully firing him!

Unbelievable. We then have to hire a lawyer to chase the guy through the court system. This bad guy knows he was a thief, so he finally, after many months, dropped the lien in hopes that we would not take him to court.

But we did take this horrible person to court, and he tried to justify his bad behavior by blaming the architectural plans! He blamed everyone but himself.

But it is ironic how he was able to bid aggressively using the same plans... Hmmm, this guy is always on the look out for an "exit" and "blame game" strategy.
How many homeowners have to be subjected to this?

In the end, he lost in court and was ordered a pre-judgement remedy so we could secure a lien on HIS house before spending more money to pursue a full judgement.
He then tries to flee responsibility by FILING "BANKRUPT" IN THE COURTS.
He evaded taking responsibility by going Bankrupt and now is walking free but is most certainly 100% guilty.

He is now working for a commercial construction company in NYC as an estimator. But he will re-emerge, like a snake, with a different name for a different construction company when he thinks that the building industry has recovered.

The photographs we took upon his termination are difficult to look at.in eight months, he could not get a roof on over our new addition! The water damage alone to our home was enormous.

It cost us over $500,000 to REPLACE AND REPAIR his terrible work at our home.
This guy needs to be in jail.
The financial strain and the psychological duress is difficult to describe, but the enormity of it is enough to cause your health to suffer.

The current legal system fails the innocent consumer/homeowner.
What he did was steal money from us in order to siphon the money in to two spec houses that he tried to build in another town, of course without our knowledge. But where are the laws to stop this?

He left methane gas spewing into our home, which is enormously dangerous, along with hazardously cut live wires with repeated water intrusion to boot.
He was the type of person who was always looking to do more demolition and get the project to be bigger, but he could not re-build what he had taken apart.
It was always a "story" and "Mr. Nice Guy" ACT when we would confront him at our property.

He is a liar, an accomplished thief, a monster.
What is the legal system going to do to protect the homeowner?
Why is it that a bad builder, who caused damages to someone's home, can get a Lien without any due process?

We had to spend $25,000 to get him to a court hearing to finally get a Pre-judgement remedy. There was due process required of the homeowner, but not for the bad [con man] contractor.
This is better than robbing a bank.
In fact, all bank robbers have all seen how easy it is to rob homeowners and are now home robbers.

This has got to stop.
Every homeowner and every State Legislation around America needs to stand up to this horrifying robbery and destruction. It is a modern day 'wild west.'
