Water softener burst causing garage flooding

My neighbors woke me last week to tell me I had water gushing from my garage. It was the Kinetico water softener again. The seam they have in the middle of their units seems prone to breaking. When this happens the water and resin sprays in whatever direction the break is which caused damage to some books, clothes, papers, and stereo system in my garage.

Just like the last time it happened in Sept. 2001 they refuse to do anything about it. They try to blame it on the water pressure but it seems kind of funny that my next door neighbor doesn't have that problem. But then, they do not have Kinetico. And if Kinetico units cannot stand the pressure they why didn't they install a pressure valve with the system? In my opinion they just have poor quality systems and they should have been honest with me before I purchased the systems. BTW, it does not soften water very well either. I thought I'd have no rust rings but I still did.

Their latest excuse is that the 10 year warranty does not apply to the last unit they installed. Give me a break. Will the product last for 10 years or not? Isn't that what warranties are all about?

If the products do not last for the 10 years they advertise then I feel entitled to a refund. You surely don't think I want to get another Kinetico and I definitely hope no one else does either. Deceptive and unethical companies like this need to go out of business.
