10 Cup Model: DGB-600BC Sold piece of junk coffee maker for high price Louisiana

We purchased a Cuisinart Model: DGB-600BC coffe maker a little over a year ago. It is the most expensive piece of crap that we ever purchased.

1) The thermal carafe lip design was flawed as it allows/forces coffee to run out of the side and down the carafe onto the counter top. The company we bought it from would not replace the ill designed carafe, so we had to purchase another carafe at around 50 bucks. Yes, the new design incorporated "gutters" that keep the stream headed toward the coffee cup and not down the side of the pot.

2) If you opt to use the grind option and brew you better watch it closely because if just a few coffee grinds get on the outside of the paper filter it will stop up the valve in the bottom of the brew basket and over flow all over the counter top.

3) The machine leaks now and has to sit in a cookie pan to catch the leaking water.

4) The latch that holds the brew basket (spring loaded) in the machine has, on several occasions popped open while it was brewing and yes, AGAIN spilling hot water and coffee grinds on my counter top.

It has practically ruined the tile counter top as it has gotten the counter soaked with hot water so many times that several tiles have had to be re-glued. I have also experienced other coffee makers that leak in the same way which makes me wonder if the folks that make coffee makers are actually designing them to spill a little bit forcing us to use more paper towels? I smell a conspiracy! Anyone else???
