Ripoff the business that doesn't give a damn

Back in march we had furniture delivierd by valuecity. Thats when the nightmere began first the delivery men scratched the wall very badly while carring the sofa up stairs. (we live in a raised ranch) then they pushed the sofa across our hardwood floor gouging the surface very badly. Then they put together my childrens bunkbed while putting in the bolts they were very carless and scratched up the new beds badly. Now after reporting all of this someone came out and took pictures of the damage. The manager called and said that they would give us a check to fix the damage.

We then noticed a rip on the arm of the loveseat and reported this also the manager said he would send someone out to replace the beds and fix the loveseat this sounded ok with us. We said for the money they would give us we would like a kitchen table and chairs. The manager said that was ok with him. Weeks later I was called to pick-up my order I did not trust another delivery from this store. When I arrived to pick-up the order they told me they could not find the base to the table to come back the next day to pick-up the base the next day I went again to the store to pick-up the base they still did not find it and I should take a loaner base for our table the base was the same color so I took it and said were done with this order.

When the repair man came to our home he said to my wife"this furniture is only ment to last a few years till you can afford good furniture" about a month after relacing the beds we then noticed the bottoms of the beds were sagging very badly we called to have them checked the service man said they needed to be replaced when the delivery men arrived they were very rude to my wife and made her take the mattresses off the bed herself and then started work on the bed my son in the room one delivery man gets mad and starts swearing in front of my boy who is 11 years old then they never put the side rails on my 7 year olds bed leaving the bolts on the floor were my 1 year old could get them and they left without finishing the job.

When I heard all this I called the store again and was told I would get a check for 100.00 for pain and suffering I then told the manager to pick-up all the furniture and give me my money back so I could buy some good furniture! Mind you this stuff is not a year old yet. 10/26/02
