Prizants Carpeting
Inferior carpet installed, "fake" carpet inspectors, no record of carpet purchase from manufacture

Construction & Repair

Prizants screwed me over.in September, we ordered whole house carpet. We tore our old carpet up ourselves and then waited about 4 weeks for them to get around to installing the new carpet on October 31st. A few days later, I noticed zigzagging lines running the length of the carpet. Called and they sent their inspector who said it was a manufacturing flaw. Said the manufacturer (Mohawk) would need to send their own inspector. A few weeks later, another guy shows up who takes pictures, carpet fiber samples, info. Etc. Said it should all be replaced, that he would send his report to Prizants and they would contact me about reinstalling the carpet.

By then it's the first week of December so I told him I didn't want to do anything until after Christmas. Then Christmas day arrives and I hear the news that Prizants has gone under. I get a hold of FlooringAmerica who says it's a no brainer that Mohawk will stand behind the quality of their carpets. I call Mohawk which requests that I fill out an info form which I do. Just got their letter back today saying they have no record that one of their inspectors ever entered our home and ALSO NO RECORD that Prizants ever bought said carpet from them.in fact, according to MOHAWK, they stopped doing business with Prizants months before I even purchased the carpet. Why the heck weren't these companies who were pulling out of relationships with Prizants, blowing the whistle??? So many companies knew that Prizants was headed straight down yet consumers were permitted to keep buying from and deal with their horrible business tactics. If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it but don't contact me if you are expecting me to "pay for your advice". I'm still paying for my crappy carpet.
