I received a phone call last night from Conns "corporate" office. The lady that came on the phone was polite but when I said that I didnt want to use the account information they had on file for payment, she flipped out and said I needed to return the bed I purchased. I am in the process of switching banks and asked nicely if I can get her the information when I got home. She wasnt having that. We argues a bit because I could not make her understand that the funds would not be available in my old bank account bu she persisted that she was going to draw funds from there.

After that her manager came on the phone as rude as can be. I also argues with him because I could not make him understand that I was using a different bank. He threatened to show up to my place of employment to make arrangements and also to tell my manager how "unresponsible" I was because I was behind one month. He went off saying how they cared about the customers and that he was willing to help out if I only made a payment right then and there. I told him that all they cared about was getting their money.

We came to the agreement that they would post date a debit from my old bank account and that I would call back with my new bank account information so my old account wouldn't go negative. They went ahead and charged me anyways even after I called back to verify that the charge would be post dated. My advise is to stay clear of Conns. Dont ever deal with them. They can take up to three hours anyways when making a purchase.
