Ripoff liars victimized us with shody roof replacement

I had a new roof installed on my Wauwatosa bungalow home in April by AD Roofing. On 8/31/02, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend 2002 after the heavy rain, I noticed water leaking from the ceiling in the front room of my home.

Like most bungalows, when one enters through the front door he or she is standing in a small room separate from the rest of the house, which has its own roof (there is no second story on this part of the house), this is the room where I found water leaking from the ceiling.

Since it was a holiday weekend, I waited until the Tuesday after Labor Day, 9/3/02, to contact AD Roofing. The owner of AD Roofing, Aaron Dwyer, eventually sent 2 of his workers to attempt to repair the leak on 9/6/02.

However, it took several phone calls and missed appointments before the workers actually came to the house. The workers stated that the flashing on the roof above the front room was not properly attached.

They stated that the nails had not been fully driven into the flashing and that it was not properly caulked. I showed them the damage to the interior of my home but they did not comment.

Since the workers attempted to repair the roof on 9/6/02, I have contacted Aaron numerous times to date, 9/21/02, attempting to set up appointments for Aaron to view the interior damage to my home.

Prior to the installation of the new roof in April, I did not experience any water leaks. It appears that the roof must have been leaking water slowly over time because I did not notice any leaks until 8/31/02, and the new roof was installed in April.

On 8/31/02, I noticed mold on my plaster, large plaster cracks in the walls and ceiling, and water damage to the wood floor, the molding surrounding the windows, and my piano. As the heavy rain continued over the Labor Day weekend, I could see the water leaking through the cracks in the ceiling and dripping down the plaster walls, down the pristine woodwork surrounding my leaded glass windows, down my piano sitting in front of the windows, and pooling on my wood floor.

My home was built in the 1920s and I am very proud of the craftsman workmanship in my home. Specifically, I am very proud that none of the woodwork has been painted or damaged over the past 80 years. Also, when my husband and I purchased the home in April of we had all of the wood floors refinished.

However, Aaron Dwyer has stated that he is not going to pay for any damages because he believes that the leaks already existed prior to the new roof. To this point, he has only offered to have his workers paint over the mold on the plaster. Because of his unwillingness to discuss the damage over the phone, I have been trying since 9/6/02 to get Aaron to view the damage for himself. But he has never come to my home to view it.

I leave him messages, my husband leaves him messages, my husband and I both talk to Aaron, but he has yet to view the interior damage to my home. Sometimes Aaron will set a date and time to come to our home, but he always cancels. Other times he states he will "try" to get there on X date but then he never comes or calls.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and treatment I am receiving from AD Roofing and Aaron Dwyer. Aaron Dwyer refuses to view the water damage to home, thus, he will not pay for any of the repairs. Further, I am not completely sure that the leaks have been fixed. To repair the damage in my front room will cost a few thousand dollars.
