Carrier Does NOT Stand Behind Quality of Product - DO NOT BUY Home AC/Heat from them!

In we replaced all of our residential heating and cooling equipment with Carrier. We thought it was supposed to be a high quality product in the industry. We could not have been more wrong.

In just a year after installation, the capacitor on the upstairs A/C unit went out. Paid for a service call. Then the fan motor... Another service call. Now this year, another capacitor and high pressure switch.

The local installation company even took Carrier to task asking them why their capacitors do not seem to be able to handle reasonable loads. Carrier didn't want to pay for the pressure switch, so the local company is trying to work with us on that.

I would have been MUCH better off just staying with the old Rheem units.

I spoke to Carrier's so-called Customer Service just now. No help at all. "Diane" excused herself from all technical knowledge and said she really did not know why Carrier refused to cover the part (pressure switch) under the warranty. She refused to transfer me to someone who might be able to provide more assistance, refused to identify who the Customer Service Manager or Director would be. Nice helpful service, eh? From a company as big as Carrier? And after paying 13K for their equipment? SHe would not even identify for me who the customer service liasion for the Houston TX area would be.

Please consider ALL other Air Conditioning companies before EVER consider Carrier. They should be at the rock bottom of your list—take it from me.
