Ripped off an elderly woman

This man did work for our mom. She trusted him, as she had worked with and become friends with his mother. After our mom's death, we found out he had overcharged her for materials. For instance, the day she passed away, he was there to install windows and found her body. He kept saying the windows were "$1500 windows." After a while they were "$1600 windows." In going through the estate, we went to the lumber yard and found out that the windows were actually worth $1042.40. This called everything he had done for her into question. The attorney wrote him a letter, and requested that he provide statements for his work.instead of calling the attorney, he called us and left two irate messages.in further research we have discovered that he overcharged her for a metal roof. He never gave our mom itemized bills, and the checks she wrote him were always for even amounts. She was in the hospital in for two weeks, and he visited her constantly, wanting to know when he would get paid. He even took her home from the hospital [she checked herself out against doctors' orders] so she could stop at the bank on the way home and write him yet another check. For God knows what!

This guy also did a roof job for the man across the street - no doubt with materials left over from our mom's garage roof because they look the same. Lucky for Mr. Watkins, this man has memory problems, and cannot remember the amount of the job and paid him in cash.

Mr. Watkins seems to hone in on old people, who may not always be senile, but are trusting to a fault. We will continue to pursue our own investigation, and will more than likely be contacting the police with our findings.
