Affordable Tree Work
Totally ripped me off ripoff

On 2/9/07 I contracted to have these individuals cut down the trees around my house. The contract reads: remove all trees on property, grind all stumps, leave one palm tree. Spray house and pressure wash. Sealer applied on house. All debris is to be hauled, nothing left on property. Start date 2/12 - 2/14 expect 2 - 3 day job time. Leave all wood chips in bacy yard and spread out.

He made me pay him in cash upfront. He wouldn't take a check and he took me to the bank to get the cash. I could only get 6500.00 of the 7190 he was charging. I told him the fence had to be put back exactly as it was due to having 2 large dogs. He said it would be exactly as he found it. He was also to remove the shed from my property. He told me he was going to clean up the lawn and have it all green.

He started the job on 2/10. He came about 3pm that day. He came back about 1:30 monday the 12th. I had told him the house had to be pressure washed by the 14th at the latest because my kids were coming on the 16th to paint my house. He didn't show up tuesday or wednesday the 14.

When i called him wednesday, he said it was pouring. He was less than a mile from me and it wasn't raining at all. He didn't show on thursday and i called him at 9:30 and he said he was getting in the shower and he'd call in 20 minutes. At 1:00 pm i called again because i hadn't heard from him. He said he was on his way and why was i being such a pain, the job would get done. He showed up about 3. The house never got pressure washed until the 16 and he didn't seal it.

He said the weather report he got every day showed it would rain wed thru sun. I watched the weather on tv and no rain was forecast. He said he never had complaints before. I then checked the bbb and he had 14 complaints in the last 2 years, 7 in the last year. (it's now up to 18 in 2 years and 11 in the last year) he never responded to any of them.

He worked a couple of more days, the last one being 2/26, way more than 2 or 3 days work and he wanted the rest of his money. He had two piles of junk that he moved, one in the front of my house and one on the side. The fence was not put up right.

I found out later that he never even attached 2 sections of the fence he took down, he just leaned them up against the posts. I didn't know that until i lost my two dogs when it fell down. He also bent a section of the inside fence with one of his machines and he cracked a piece on the other side. He left all kinds of sticks and twigs in the yard and he killed the grass on both sides of the house.

His license on his card is a fake. I've noticed now he advertises as affordable all around tree work and has changed his phone number by 1 digit. He also went to the neighbor and told her i owed him 8000 dollars and wouldn't answer the door. I owed him 690.00 but didn't really owe it since he didn't finish the job and didn't do what he said he would and he left another tree besides the palm. He lied to me constantly through the whole thing and the same neighbor said that he and his crew spent more time when the were here goofing off in front of the house.

I sent him a letter of demand for some of my money back because he never finished what i paid him for. He never even responded. He is an absolute crook and i believe he will just keep changing names doing the same thing to other people. He had already moved his business from the address i found him at. He also advertises 10% senior discount (i am a sr) which i didn't get. He told me also that i would receive a credit on my mortgage that would keep me from having to make payments for 7 months. Another of his lies.
