HOA RIPOFF Takes Payment, but Doesn't Credit your account

UNfortunately, I live in a neighborhood governed by an HOA. There are lots of horror stories regarding HOA's. My experience isn't that bad, yet, but after 4 years of steady payments through my bank's bill pay system, they have decided not to credit my account for a payment made in December. They have charged late payments and interest. I sent an email to the billing department and asked them to check their records and credit my account. They never responded.

I contacted my bank and asked them to investigate the payment. They determined the payment had been made and the check was cashed. The bank faxed proof that the payment had been received, but the management company has still refused to credit my account.
