Customer gutted kitchen. Washing dishes in tub. Company not willing to compensate

Company promised delivery of custom ordered cabinets for week of 9/25. After order was paid for in full in the amount of $9750, I was notified that the product we had agreed on was not available and never was. The company waited three weeks to notify me of this and it was only after I placed several phone calls to check on my order that they disclosed to me that the wood I had chosen was not available and had never been. At that time we discussed my options and I chose an alternative and a new delivery date was set for 10/31.

At no time did the company offer to compensate me for the inconvenience that their original mistake had caused me. I had to eat out each night, wash what limited dishes I was able to use in my bathtub and had to run between the outside water source and the house to use the water in my kitchen when needed.

When the cabinets were delivered, they were not what we had agreed on after having to choose a new wood as the finshed was not "distressed" as ordered. At that time, I explained to the delivery people that the order was not correct and started to place calls to the company. Each time I called I was promised a phone call back and each time my calls went unreturned. Again, I received no alternative solution or was offered no compensation for the inconvenience this was causing.

I explained to each company representative that I spoke with that I as the customer was being hugely inconvenienced and asked that they have someone with some authority call me back so that we could come to some sort of mutual solution. My calls went unanswered.

I am appalled by the lack of customer service and consideration I have been shown. When making a purchase that is this huge, you expect to be shown a level of professionalism that is second to none. After all, $9750 is not pocket change. I was not shown any professionalism or compassion for the situation that I have found myself in. I feel as though I have kept up my end of the bargain as a consumer and have been handed the short end of the stick by a company who claims to specialize in custom orders.

Each time I have spoken to a rep from the company I am the one who is treated as though I have done something wrong. I am treated as though I am a second rate citizen. At this time I am trying to sever my relationship with the company and have my money refunded and when I notified the company that this was now the only resolution, I again got a song and dance.

I, as a consumer, put my trust in this company and feel as though I have been completely taken advantage of. I want other potential consumers to be weary of doing business with Indian River Cabinets if you are looking to conduct your business with professionals as I don't think they employ one person who would even know how to define that word let alone exhibit that quality.
