Ripoff, false claims, inadequate product construction

Construction & Repair

I would prefer the owner or someone in the development of the vacuums answer this message. I have had two of the yellow DC07 (I think they are called) for about 4 years now. Total cost around $1000. There is something about them that has always bothered me and recently I compared the problem to see if the new Electrolux Oxygen3 vacuum made any difference. Yes, it made a huge difference.

I have always wondered why the front of your vacuum was not heave enough to push the brush into the carpet. Well, not even push but skim the top of the carpet enough to pick up my Dalmatian's hair. I can sit there, go over the area 5 to 20 times, and still have numerous hairs on the carpet. I figured it out one day that the front of the area where the brush roller is not heave enough to adequately have the brush gather stuff from the carpet.

I purchased the Electrolux yesterday from Costco and man; it made all the difference in the world. One swipe with the Electrolux upright vacuum and all the hair was gone. What a feeling.

I feel like I have really been ripped off by your company. When the vacuums had the valid warranty, I even tried having the brush and belt replaced thinking that was the problem, but there was not a difference. Your suction is great and might be the best. You might have the best bagless technology too, but without the brush and the area where the suction is next to the brush that draws the stuff on the carpet up, not having enough weight so that the suction and brush can be close enough to the surface, the vacuum is not working properly and basically no better than the worst vacuum I have ever tried.

I really wish I had noticed this before the warranty ended but I had to do my own research, which took time, in order to come up with what the problem was. Unbelievably, I started with putting a rock on the front of the vacuum so that the weight would put the suction and brush closer to the surface. That is how I first found out that was the problem. It was as simple as that. Even if you say it is self-adjusting, if there is not enough weight so that the brush and the suction tube near the brush are close enough to the ground, the vacuum does not function, as it should.

I will post my comments on some of the "customer complaint websites" because I would like to do my part and try to help other people from paying a small fortune and dealing with the same problem I had. Good Luck in developing a vacuum with a heavier base.
