Ripoff defective design cheap construction on top of the line fridge

Thin plastic foam = what Whirlpool engineers think can support weight of refrigerator door gallons of milk condiments.

How on earth did Whirlpool refrigerator design engineers manage to graduate from college with such an abysmal lack of knowledge of elementary physics? Did they purchase their degrees online? How did this poor idea for refrigerator door construction get out of R&D? Did the president of the company come up with this door design during the employee Christmas party when he was drunk & the fawning sycophant employees were too scared of him to tell him he was a cheap, unrealistic idiot?

Good thing Whirlpool doesn't design cars, or they might be made of styrofoam & cardboard, though they'd cost more than normal cars.

Our refrigerator door fell off yesterday when 12 year old daughter opened it. Refrigerator is a Whirlpool Gold, 4 years old, has never been moved, & we don't even use the door shelves to store milk. So apparently the weight of salad dressing & ketchup are more than the door can bear.
