We are suffering needlessly because these contractors refuse to fix their building code violations in our home. Ripoff

My husband and I bought a newly built home from the contractors, Gregory and Teodor Chojnacki, whom are brothers and go under different company names, not all are known to us. Some akas are; T & G Construction, and Eagle Construction Co. They build homes mostly in the developement they own in Dudley, called "Rocky Hill Estates". We bought are home from them back in August. Since then we have had nothing but problems.

A few months after moving in to our home we started having roof leaks. It was discovered that the roof was not shingled properly. The contractors were even sited by the local building inspector for not following proper installation.

In the spring of we had a major flood in our basement, losing most of our personal belongings that were stored there.

Shortly thereafter we found out that the perimeter drain had not been properly installed. Therefore, the ground water had nowhere to go but through the basement floor. The contractors were later sited for this too by the local and a state building inspector.

The first winter in our new house also brought us problems. We found out that all the windows in our house were never insulated and chalked, making the house very drafty and cold. We even had to winterize the windows with plastic, something you shouldn't have to do in a brand new house.

We have brought all these issues to the state board of building standards and regulations' attention and they did nothing to help us. We also filed a lawsuit and are still waiting for results. These contractors have been allowed to do whatever they want, by the "state" and our town. There is no justice here. We are the consumers who got ripped off! We hope no one else will ever have to go through the ordeal we continue to suffer. These contractors are allowed to continue to build homes in the area inspite of all the documentation showing that they violated building codes and performed shoddy work.

Laws are definitely not in place to protect consumers like us.
