Sione M Funaki ripoff lies cheats takes money poor work bad person steals dishonest

Funaki Masonry Contractor, General Contractors License #CT-19929 (aka Sione M Funaki) was hired to build several rock walls on our property. He claims to build rock walls & cements work. The total job cost $9,500.00. He claimed it would take only 2 weeks. He started in the 1st week of December. Last time he did work was in the 3rd week of December.

We paid increments of payments up to $9,000.00 & "STOPPED" due to poor quality workmanship, unsafe work, wall is crooked and work is falling apart.
When we noticed the work getting sloppy & unsafe we wrote him a letter and the State of Hawaii, RICO to correct the problems. He promised he would and demanded more money to finished the job.

The last day he worked was 12/23/05. These are the complaints against him:
1. Work is falling apart and uneven.
2. Work is unsafe.
3. Poor quality workmanship.

6. Once he knows you are on to him he'll never answer his cell phone of call you back.
7. He always demands cash or check to pay his workers and hires the homeless

He worked on 6 homes next to ours. 5 owners are unhappy with the work. Our neighbors have hope he will return to complete the work. I told them "wake up & smell the roses" he ain't coming back unless you are a fool to give (not pay) him more money for nothing. This is a brief stats of our neighbors properties:

Neighbor #1: Steps (30' x 6') not completed. Paid in full.
Neighbor #2: Steps (30' x 6') not completed. Back wall (3' x 50') not completed. Paid $1,000.00. He took off. Bigs rock in back yard. Grass is dying.
Neighbor #3: Paid $20,000.00 for $29,000.00 job. 40% of the work is done. Rocks & mud all over the place.
Neighbor #4: He crack his wall. Promised to fix. Never came back.
Neighbor #5: Rock wall & steps not completed.

We file a complaint with the State of Hawaii, Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO). Pending there reply.
We want our money back to tear down what is built & hire a professional to rebuild it.
