Complaint:
My husband (who is a pro athlete) and I have moved many times across the country. We were moving from Boca Raton to Delray Beach, FL. We have never been so scammed in our lives. I had a written contract to have No 1 Van lines help us in our move.

We had everything packed and ready to go at 9:00 am on 02/27/06. We waiting for the movers, they did not show up! At 10:00 am they finally returned my phone calls and said" We are having problems with our truck" we will call you back in 2 hours. We again waited... 3 hours later they again called, only to tell us they still had not resolved their truck problems.

My husband then offered to go and get a truck from Budget, a 24ft, and just asked kindly if they could come and help us load and unload it. I can't understand with all the truck rental companies why they could not get a truck, they had a contract and should have done whatever it takes to get the job done. My husband then went and rented the truck. No 1 Van lines said "that they would send the men over to help with the move, since we had our own truck".

Well, big surprise, they never called or showed up. I (all 110 pounds of me) and my husband were abandoned by this company and left to move to a three story by ourselves. We had a closing the next morning at 10:00am, I wanted to have the house as clean as possible, I had a very sweet carpet cleaner, who came to shampoo the carpets, offer to help my husband unload the truck. We compensated him with $200 dollars, it was not an easy job.

All I wanted from this company was to pay for the truck we loaned, and the help we ended up hiring. The total was around $500. They were extremely rude, did not return my phone calls and SCREAMED at me when I asked for the money back. One of the reasons I went with this company in the first place was because it was listed in the BBB. I did not charge them for my broken nails, bruises or stress, just what we paid.

Settlement Explanation:
I want the money we had to spend for their broken contract, and they should learn to treat people the right way. We would like an apology. I have all the paperwork to back this up, from their contract to the truck rental, ect. $500
