Ripoff dishonest and not following contractnot returning money

I recently thought about purchasing a Kirby vaccumn because I had gotten a call saying they would come out and do a cleaning for free. I hadn't planned on purchasing it but the demo was good, and my husband and I thought this would benefit to my allergies and asthma problems.

We had signed the contract, but had 3 business days to cancel it. I made sure that it would be like the salesman said I could cancel. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, I had signed the contract on 1-23-06, called them on 1-25-06, to see about how to cancel the transaction and get proof that I did so. I sent in the cancellation notice on 1-26-06. There again I wanted to make sure that it would be cancelled. I waited until the next week and called the company to see if they had recieved it, and they did.

Thomas the salesman called after we had called numerous occasions wondering why we are cancelling the kirby. My husband had done some research and found the exact same package for $650 instead of the 1850 they were charging.

He had scheduled to pick up the vaccumn, and called an hour before he was suppose to arrive and cancelled, because his boss did not want to restock the vaccumn. I had also called the credit line to see if they had cancelled the transaction, and they had not done so in Feb. I had put a down payment on my credit card, and that has not been credited to my account as of today 2-22-06. He finally picked up the vaccumn, I didn't get any paperwork for the cancellation and he broke the contract, the vaccumn we had traded in he had already donated before they were suppose to have. They gave us one in return, that I have had that model and didn't like, because it broke, said he would try to get ours back. We tried this vaccumn and it doesn't even work. My husband called again for Thomas, but they don't return our phone calls. This could end up hurting our credit. I don't have the merchandise and none of the loans have been cancelled. This is very wrong to do. I definitely would not reccomend Kirby, because they scam you, this had been an awful experience, and it makes me not trust companies anymore. What's sad is the customer must abide by the contract but the company doesn't, that's definitely not right.
