Ripoff Poor Product Quality, Terrible Customer Service

I special ordered custom blinds from Home Depot in May. They came out, gave me a quote, and charged my credit card. Everything sounded great to this point.

They came out to install my blinds, and this is when the trouble starts. On the first trip, they were missing several parts to finish the installation, a couple of the blinds were to big for the windows, and the vertical blinds had different sizes (They still do, but I gave up on getting it right).

They returned for a second trip, and once again the same problems occured, and they had to schedule for yet another return trip. I don't recall exactlly which trip it was, but I think it was on the third schedulled trip they never showed up, and didn't even bother to call to let me know that they wouldn't be showing up for the appointment.

They returned for the fourth trip, and were able to get all the blinds installed, but the valances did not fit right, nor did they have the returns as promissed by the original quote (According to the representitive who gave me the quote, he had to charge me extra for the returns).

They returned for the fifth time, and were able to get all the blinds installed with the valances. They even promissed to return 10% of my money for all the trouble that I encountered.

It's now July, and I still have the following problems:
1. The valances do not have the returns which I paid extra for
2. One of the valances was poorly installed, and when opening the blinds, it fell off and hit my girlfriend on the face.
3. The vertical blind still have two different sizes.
4. They NEVER refunded the 10% as promissed.
5. The bedroom blinds let way too much light in due to the spacing between the blinds.

I called them last week, and had a representitive come out for the Sixth time. I spent almost 45 minutes on the phone with his boss, and this is the best he could offer:

1. Give me 50% of my money back on the bedroom blinds towards shutters, and the 10% refund that was originally promissed was to be used to towards the shutters.

2. Return trip to reinstall all the blinds to make sure that they will be secured, and to install valances with returns.

I was happy that they would be coming back to correct the blinds/valances problems, but did not agree with only getting 50% credit on the poor quality blinds installed in my bedroom, but nevertheless I wanted to put this behind me, and relunctantly accepted his offer.

It is now Saturday, July 30, and they NEVER showed up, nor called to cancell the appointment. I called the 800 #, and they tell me that the valances were not ready, and will have to come back for a EIGTH apponitment next Wednesday.

Is Home Depot aware of the poor customer service their outside contractor are providing? Is Home Depot going to allow this type of behaviour to continue? Am I supposed to accept the fact that I am to take time off work every time they promisse to come out and don't show up?

This will be the EIGHT appointment, and there will be more, because the shutters will not be ready for another 6-8 weeks. How many visits does it take to get it right?

Will Home Depot ever give me the 10% refund they promissed? Shouldn't they do more than 10% after all these problems?

I'll be honest. The best solution is to give me my entire money back, and take these blinds back, so that I can purchase it from someone else.

I wonder if Home Depot will be responding to this complaint.
