Poor interior painting job with wrong colors and damage

We hired John Conlin to do interior painting of a house that we had just purchased. I sent him all the information he required via text as far as the colors and what to paint in which color. We stopped by the house a few days after he got started and he was quite upset that we were there. He told me this was not a good time, that he did not have time to talk to me and had a lot of work to do, and he went back inside the house.

We stopped by the following day in the afternoon and went inside the house to see how things were going. We noticed that the kitchen had been painted the wrong color and the closet doors in the children's rooms had been painted when they were not to be touched. We asked John to correct his mistakes, and the next day he sent us an email stating that he would have to charge us more money because he was doing extra work. When I asked him to explain what the extra work was and how much he wanted to charge, he was upset and told me he would only charge for a hole that he fixed, and that I needed to find someone else to do the installation of our ceiling fans, which was work we had agreed he would do for an additional price.

We were appalled at the level of incompetence of whoever was painting the inside of the house. Rooms were painted the wrong color and in the wrong finish, with paint overlapping onto the ceiling, the windows and the fixtures, paint on the carpet, on my kitchen floor tiles and on my laundry room tiles, and globs of paint, drips, runs and streaks on my banister. I now have to replace the closet doors in my children's rooms because John sprayed them the same color as the room color. I have to replace 2 bedroom doors that they tried to paint white. I really cannot say what went wrong, other than it was the poorest job of brush painting I have ever seen, even from a child.

We are now forced to pay another person to come in and not only repaint the entire house to fix the problems, but also sand down the banister to repaint it, replace the closet doors in the kids' rooms, and replace the main doors in the kids' rooms because they are not salvageable. This labor-intensive work is required to put them back in the state they were in before Joseph John Conlin did work at my house.
