Unfair business practices - rude assistant manage

We had nothing but problems with this complex, namely the assistant manager. The overall management could have been far better given our situation with financial hardship and having to move out of state due to a new position.

We specifically told the asst mgr to not cash a rent check until a given date to ensure the funds would be present; but instead she held on to it and waited too long before trying to cash the check. She initially stated to just pay the late fees but turned around and stuck us with the full amount of the check plus late fees, giving only 5 days for us to respond else face eviction. Needless to say we had little choice but to move out.

We cleaned up the apartment as best as possible and left it with usual wear and tear; the assistant manager goes behind our backs and claims we left the kitchen, bathroom, and refrigerator dirty. Bull! I had left that apartment in as best of shape as possible and yet Crown Chase tries to stick us with the bill - and it only gets better.

One of the leasing agents told us she would try to rent out the unit so we would not have to pay the remainder of the lease. Yet once again, the assistant manager not only finagles things to where the unit doesn't get rented out; but instead sticks us with (surprise!) the rent for the remainder of our lease.

To add fuel to the fire, she calls our current apartment complex and tells them we wrote a bad check, and now we can't pay the rent with any personal checks. Not that I don't mind paying with a money order, but to have the assistant manager of our old complex call our new one to tell them about the bad check is absolutely ridiculous. Only once did we write a bad check and all this comes crashing on our heads.

If I have anything to say to people moving to the Tulsa area, do _not_ lease with Crown Chase Apartments! The assistant manager is nothing but a witch (and that's putting it mildly!) and I have nothing good to say about their business practices.
