Complaint - hp officejet 6000 printe

On 5/10/10 I purchased a HP OFFICEJET 6500 AIO to the tune of $159.99 plus tax. Almost 1 year to the date the black jet refused to print. I called support and was told to clean off the place where the ink came out. When that didn't help I was told to buy a new inkjet which I did (the large size because I fully expected it to do the trick). Also failure. I called my son who works in computer in another city. He got HP on-line and gave me instructions to test to see if the black inkjet was working properly. No luck. He then said "don't bother to have it fixed because it is probably cheaper to buy a new one."

We have been using HP printers since about 1990 when, as a couple of old folks, we joined the computer world. The 6500 was our third printer and probably the most expensive so it is very disappointing to have it konk out at the tender age of 1 year. HP could do better than that.
