License problem

I just finished a session with HP customer service over there over invasive license agreement for a deskjet 1300 series printer.

My simple complaint was I just want a printer driver that does not give HP the right to search my computer at any time and access any data they desire.

If this is not the height of big brother attitudes it is to me. It is time the manufacturers learn that gathering marketing data and other personal information is not their right just because they seel me something.

HP customer service attitude was accept the license or return the printer to the store of purchase. I have had the printer for several months as a backup should my other printer malfunction and do not see this as a retailer problem.

As a former retail sales associate I certainly suggest that retailers take heed of this license problem and their response and cease selling HP products because refunding purchases is not in your best interest.
