Bogus Genuine Windows Validation Error from Microsoft - Windows XP Operating System

My windows XP license is legal and I have the certificate to prove it - but five years after purchasing the machine Microsoft has suddenly decided it is not legal. I have tried fixing it with the online suggestions and none seem to work. Any assistance from Microsoft for an issue they created requires me to PAY for customer support. What a rip-off. Don't allow Microsoft to automatically update your operating system - great money making opportunity for them when we have to purchase TWO licenses for our computers!!!
