Went to Eastern Mountain Sports to buy my wife Mother's Day gifts totaling $421. Much to my surprise my check was denied. Clerk said they use Certegy and I might want to call them to clear things up. Called Certegy and was told that there was no fraudulent activity on my account or any bounced checks. They enter my check into their computer model and the computer decides whether or not you are a risk. A COMPUTER MODEL - WTF!!! Absolutely no basis what so ever. I was then told that in order to prevent this from happening again, I need to update my account and increase my check cashing limit??? What account and what limit??? Absolutely absurd! Needless to say I left the store with no presents, feeling like a dirt bag and probably looking like one to the cashier. Ridiculous! This company needs to go!!!
