Sales Rep Asked for SSN and Recorded My License Number

I have been a credit customer for two years, with an excellent credit rating. I recently purchased two TVs and added them to my current credit account. Your sales rep got my name and current account number (with GE), then asked for my SSN, which GE already has. I was also asked to show my driver's license and he recorded my driver's license number. This is too much information to give to a salesperson. Your accounting system must be outdated. Have you heard of identity theft? This is an example of how it happens. Bottom line, you lost a good customer.
